Here at My Family Doctor, we treat both acute and chronic conditions by providing personalized care to meet your needs. Acute medical conditions are short-term illnesses or injuries Dr. Layne Hermansen can treat, and they go away. Examples of acute care include treating the common flu, urinary tract infection, bronchitis, strep throat, sprained ankle, etc.

Chronic conditions are more persistent and need to be frequently checked up on throughout the years. They are usually the result of poor nutrition, lack of exercise, genetics, alcohol or drug abuse. With these types of behaviors, patients are more prone to develop chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism, high cholesterol and more.

By coming in for a general physical with our doctor, he will be able to determine your acute or chronic health condition. After your exam, you will be able to ask Dr. Layne Hermansen any questions on any recommended treatment he provides with his findings.
